To Grandmothers house we go....

Not really! This time we had Alex's parents over for dinner. Usually every weekend we try to make it to both grandparents houses so they can each spend some time with him and he can become more familiar with them. Well, two weekends ago Daniel was NOT happy with going out. So we decided let's have them come here instead. Much better :) He had all of his toys here and was a happy little camper. Needless to say, he loves his home sweet home.

Im not sure if I mentioned in the previous post about his rolling strategies. He now has rolling onto his stomach down pat, but gets stuck and cannot roll back the other way. I've been trying to practice with him, but he hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. With due time he will be rolling around town.

He has started sleeping 13+ hours a night now, yippie! I actually wake up before him, and don't know what to do with myself. I need to start working on afternoon naps, since he won't sleep unless I lay down with him.

His 4 month check up is soon and I can't wait to see his growth over these past two months :) He is much chunkier and longer, so I know he will top the charts!

Baby is the boss!

I am not one to let my baby "Cry It Out". I feel that it is torture for the both of us, insensitive, and rude! No one likes to cry, and since babies cannot communicate with us verbally, a cry is their way of telling us what is bothering them. With that being said, Daniel gets his way no matter what! Although he is only four months old (on the 1st), he is quite bossy for such a little dude. If he is not happy about something he will let you know loud and clear! I LOVE holding him and cuddling with him. Some may say I am "spoiling" him, but I DONT CARE! He is my baby and what he wants, he will get.

So he has everything.

He is really starting to get the hang of his jumper and all the toys on it. He realized how to jump, so it's fun watching him bounce off the floor and see his face just light up with joy.

I wish I could get out of the house more with him, but this summer heat is dreadful and he just gets sooooooo cranky when he is hot. But really, so does everyone else...No one likes to sweat!

Adding videos on here is pretty annoying, especially since all the videos are on my phone and it is nearly impossible to upload from my phone so it's quite the process. Maybe i'm just missing something.

We had a mini photo shoot today while he was in a good mood =)

Teething

This sucks. I heard about the growth spurts and sleepless nights, but I was not informed about how bad teething is! What the heck.

Daniel is not a fussy baby! But this whole process has him in a funk and he is just not himself :( I keep telling myself not to get frustrated, but I can't seem to shake it. I'm frustrated because he is frustrated and we both don't know what to do! I have all the teething toys there possibly are but none are soothing him. I've been researching these natural amber teething necklaces and am on the fence about them. They seem to have a great write up, and since they are all natural I am really leaning towards getting a couple. I will not give my baby orajel or teething tablets since I have heard not so great things about both.

Well I hope this phase is short because we are not happy campers at the moment!

Jumping bean

I set up his new jumper successfully, yay! And he loves it! Although he's a little wobbly in it, he still loves to jump and look at all the toys. I love seeing his face as he discovers new things and learns to make the toys play music or rattle.

He has been sleeping so well at night, I often wake up before him! If he does wake up early, ill bring him back in bed with me and he usually falls back asleep on daddy's side of the bed since he's gone in the mornings. This morning he woke up around 7, so I brought him back with me and at 9:30 I feel his little toes and hands kicking and hitting me. No crying, just waking me up nicely :) it's such a great way to start the day by waking up to his smiling face.

Rolly Polie

Daniel loves to roll! As soon as I put him anywhere he starts rolling side to side.
In the morning I put him down on his play mat so I can eat and clean up some things, and I will look over at him to see that he has rolled completely around the mat! He is quite adventurous. I love watching him learn to do new things, because his facial expressions are priceless!

I've gotten him a couple of new toys and he is loving each of them. His favorites are the ones with holes where he can grab and shake them around.

Hopefully I can figure out how to put his new jumper together. My husband is always so busy working hard, so I try to do as much as I can that way he can relax at home. Since I'm not that handy, I usually have him look it over to make sure it won't fall apart!

Still trying to figure out the video thing , so those should be up shortly!

Tips and stuff :)

I love to read articles online about anything that has to do with babies. I probably over read, and go a little crazy sometimes. But from my reading I have learned so much, some very useful and some not so much.

When I started nursing, it was tough. I thought it will just be easy peasy since we were made to make milk. Wrong. Although I had no problems with latching or my milk coming in, I did have a problem with oversupply. In hindsight people may think that's a wonderful thing, but it is not! Having an oversupply is very frustrating actually. Daniel became very gassy, causing him to be fussy and I could not figure it out until I started to read more. Oversupply causes an imbalance of you're fore milk & hind milk, and a really fast letdown. This causes gas, diaper explosions, and even colic. It was hard at first because I could not keep it under control, but with support from my doctors, family, and loving husband I pushed through and finally am balanced out! If you are having supply trouble, I recommend finding a recipe for lactation cookies! I made a couple of batches and they really do work! I also pump when ever I get a chance, but since he nurses all day I usually wake up early morning and pump, then freeze it for when it's needed! I use the ameda pump, and it's awesome!

Since he had diaper explosions, he was getting the worst rashes. I was trying everything! I finally came across a photo that showed how to make my own wipes! Well call me crazy but I have away all the store wipes and started making my own! Along with that, I used coconut oil for diaper cream and it is fabulous! Plus, your baby will smell like coconuts which is nice :) Incase anyone is interested the wipes are easy to make! Bounty napkins(has to be bounty, plain ones), 2tbsp coconut oil, 2tbsp any baby wash, and 2 cups of water.. Heat it up so the coconut oil melts and blends, then pour it onto the napkins and let sit about an hour to work it's magic! Wala!

For his gas, gripe water has been our savior! We tried the gas drops, but didn't do much. On the flip side, gripe water has him tooting like a train! Who doesn't love baby farts :)

Well that's all I can think of for now, but if there's anything else ill post a new one!

Buy Buy Baby Addict

So as most of my friends know, I like to shop. Now, when I was pregnant with Daniel I was told about this baby superstore, and that's exactly what it is. Buy Buy Baby has everything your child could possibly need, even things they don't need, but this store carries it anyways! I know I already have everything I need for DJ, but you can never have too many cute things.. This time I was in LaLa Land and wanted to buy the store! No but really, if you have been you will see where I am coming from.

Anyways, since Daniel is teething now I got him lots of things to nibble on so hopefully this teething process goes smoothly!

He sleeps so peacefully at night now and I am so relieved! Poor baby has acid reflux, and would not sleep on a flat surface for a while, so I was nervous transitioning him from an inclined sleeper, to just being flat. Thankfully he has had no issues and loves his sleep now! He even slept through the fireworks on July 4th!

Yesterday we had a play date with a friend of mine and her baby boy who is 5 months old! They were so cute together, they even held hands on the playmat. It was so cute watching them play around ok the floor, even though they probably had no idea what was going on.

I'm going to try to figure out how I can post videos on here, if that's even possible... We will see!!

Later on ill be making a post about some tips I have found that have helped me a lot, so I can share with any mommies who may read this :)

Playing Catch Up

Hi All! I have finally created a blog, which will be portraying Daniel's life through pictures! I'm going to try my best to post every day, and hopefully you all enjoy!

So first of all, I have a lot of catching up to do. Since I have procrastinated making this blog for three months, I have that much to recap on! Daniel amazes me each day, growing like a weed, and discovering new things. He is truly a blessing, and I am lucky to have him in my life.

Over these past three months, he has changed so much. It is really astonishing to see the growth and development that babies go thorough. I am lucky enough to be a full time stay at home mom, so I get to see everything for the first time! Yay me!

Lets start with the first month! Daniel was born on April 1, 2013 at 8:18 p.m, weighing 6.6! Oh, and he was 21 inches, a long little rugrat! My labor and delivery was very smooth, and I had a great team of nurses and doctors that I thank very much! I can't forget my husband, who was such a wonderful support through the whole thing. Not going to lie, I was praying hard that he didn't pass out, and my prayers were answered, he was awesome! We were both so relived once Daniel popped out, and looked forward to every moment with our loving son. We left the hospital on Wednesday, and I was immediately overwhelmed. My awesome mom stayed with us for a couple of nights, and I owe her big time for that! It was very touch and go that first week, I thought I was going to break him since he was so teeny! But we got through it, and now that I look back on it I laugh at how nervous nancy I was being :)

Daniel is such a sweet and happy baby. He is always smiling and giggling away. It makes me take a step back and realize how precious life is, and that we should cherish every moment.

So as the first month progressed, he grew and grew and grew! Since I am nursing him, I was at my wits end during his growth spurts, really wondering how I was going to make it through. It's not easy, and I doubted myself many times, but I pushed through and now I never want to give it up! For all you mommies out there, don't ever second guess yourself! God made you so that YOU can feed your own baby, not so a cow can make their food for you. I know it is hard, and it is very demanding, but if you push through the rough patches, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Daniel is very advanced, and I have to award that to the boobie milk because there is no other explanation!

During the first month he cooed and flashed small smiles here and there, and I was head over heels in love with my son! He slept for about 2 to 3 hours at a time, and when he wasn't sleeping he was eating as much as he could! He learned all the new spaces his arms and legs could stretch out to, and was swatting and kicking away. By the end of the first month, he weighed 9 pounds! He was also lifting himself up while on his tummy, and turning his head from side to side. I told you he is advanced :)

So the second month rolled around and he began learning more and more. He began sleeping 8 hours at night (YAY!). He found his hand and loves to suck his fingers all the time. He became very good at recognizing faces of people he sees often, as well as grabbing all of his toys and my hair! He started bearing weight on his legs while holding him up, laughing, and rolling on his side! His coos are the sweetest noises in the world, and he loves to talk! He will talk your ear off if you give him the chance. By the end of this month he weighed 11.8 pounds.

Well now we are in his third month of life and he is changing by the day! He rolls all over the place, giggles at everything, and smiles every chance he gets. He is now sleeping 11 hours through the night, he is so good to mommy! He learned to grab his feet, and is always playing with those little piggies. He is such a sweetheart and makes me laugh all the time!

So, now that we are all caught up I can keep these posts small from now on :) I hope everyone who reads this enjoys hearing about Daniel and his daily activities!!
