Day 3: Happy place

I'm happiest when I'm cuddling with Daniel. The bond I have with him is like nothing I can begin to describe. He warms my heart, brightens my day, lights up my smile, and takes away any sadness I have. My other happy place would be the beach! I used to be addicted to going to the beach, but haven't been much since I have been pregnant and now have Daniel. But once it isn't so blazing hot, we will be having many beach trips :)

Day 2: Guilty Pleasure

If I have to narrow it down to just one, my guilty pleasure would be shopping for my baby! I have a really bad addiction, and should have an intervention before it's too late, but I just can't help myself! I always convince myself, mom, and husband that these are things he "needs" but deep down, I know the truth... He's spoiled! He has so many toys and clothes, probably more than all the kids in my neighborhood combined.

Oh well, at least he'll always be happy & cute!

This was from one shopping trip, when I was pregnant! Not including his 6 drawer dresser !

Day 1: My Story

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 3rd,1993. Soon after I moved to sunny South Florida with my Mom, Dad, and older sister Meghan. I danced, horseback rode, and did color guard all throughout my school years. I go to our community college and major in Nursing. I would love to be a baby nurse or a lactation consultant. In my junior year of high school, I met my now husband, Alex. We have been together for 3 years & 4 months, and married for 9 months! I became pregnant with the greatest little blessing in July, 2012. I had a pretty up and down pregnancy, sick the whole first trimester, and high-risk from the middle to the end. I delivered a PERFECT, healthy baby boy on April 1st at 8:18 p.m, weighing 6.6 lbs and 21 inches long. His name is Daniel James Castellon, and my world revolves primarily around him! I looooove to cook and eat, mostly the eating part. I am pro extended breastfeeding, babywearing, anti-circ, and all that other "hippie" stuff :) I will always put my family first, and rarely do anything that doesn't involve my son or husband. I love to travel and it would be a dream of mine to travel the world with my family. I want 6 kids, and that's not going to change. I'm a young mom, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Marrying Alex and having my little boy are the greatest things that have happened to me!

Blog everyday!

I have been stumbling upon many more blogs, and I am getting a lot of ideas from them. I know it is now September 5th, so I am a few days behind, but better late than never! I really need to challenge myself with these types of things, or I may never come around to sharing new information. This looked like a fun thing for me to do, so I guess I'll start now.

Growing pains, chatterbox, vacation

As I read about growth spurts, I've seen all of the same information! However, I think Daniel goes through mini growth spurts at completely random times. I definitely don't mind the extra cuddles :)

He's talking a lot more now. His new thing is farting noises and high pitched squeals. He also likes to play peek-a-boo with himself, and ill jump in and surprise him and get a good giggle from him. He's quite the entertainment.

We're leaving Friday to spend some time with family who has not met him yet! It will be very fun & relaxing (I hope). I'm looking forward to future vacations such as Disney, Sea World, all that fun stuff!

I've been going back and forth with myself about putting him into modeling, and I've finally decided to email a couple of agencies. Who knows what will happen, all we can do is try!

Realization

After having Daniel, I have realized many things. First of all, I realized how precious life is, every single moment. The good, the bad, the sad, the ugly, the happy, they are all moments to be cherished because they will only happen once. Having a child has made me appreciate the little things in life. Too often we are rushing around, trying to live by the clock, that we don't take time to stop and be thankful for everything around us. So what if we are late, our children are enjoying something, or doing something new. Wherever we are going, it will still be there in a half hour. Secondly, I have realized who really wants to be in your life and who is just bluffing. A lot of people tell you that they want to see you, and spend time with you, but when it comes time to make plans they suddenly are too busy and never have time, and never write you back to follow through with plans. It's depressing, and hurts to know that you are no longer a friend with person. I'm happy to say I still have few true friends, and some that I thought were true really surprised me by being a bluff. A final realization I have had is the power of research. Before having Daniel, I didn't do any research before doing something. However, now I will spend weeks analyzing every view and argument on something. I heard a saying "know better, do better" and that has stuck with me. I want to make sure I know everything about something before doing it or giving it to my son. Call me crazy, but I want the best for him, and won't settle for less.

If you are a mom, I am sure you will agree with me. Our kids are our world. I will always put my kids and family first.

On that note, Daniel is doing really well! He is back to sleeping better, and doing better throughout the day. He is 5 months old today, and I am so thankful to have him in my life.

Scrapbooking

I got the most precious baby book and scrapbook for Daniel, and what am I doing with it? Nothing! I am so far behind on keeping up his scrapbook. I really need to start it. He's going to be 5 months on the first, so I better hop to it before I get even further behind!

I'm pretty sure Daniel is going through his 6mo growth spurt now, at 5 months. It's now towards the end of it, but about a week ago he started cluster feeding like crazy. Now it's slowing down, thankfully! I have been thinking of investing in a baby scale, to weigh him and keep up with his growth since he goes so long between appointments now. My scale is bizzurk and I don't trust it's readings, mostly because I weighed 117, and an hour later weighed in at 75! Something is off. Lol.

Other than that, he is doing really great! Sleeping, playing, teething, rolling, and everything else that a baby does!
